I was hoping to cast from my house 20 miles away  Lost about 2 early fish in May and a couple of pulls during April so there may be hope.

All being well Andy, Drakey will give us the green light.

Tightlines all

Well if Drakey does not give the green light to open up.
There could be some serious problems for small businesses not opening as well as people trying to get back to a normal life.

I got a feeling he might go another 3 weeks !!!!

Well I arrived with a smile on my face to say the least.
Early morning frost greeted the soles of my boots with a fresh crisp crunch of the frost as I stepped out of the car.

The sound of the woodpecker in the woods and 2 curlews flying over the misty river meant spring is here.

River running high and gin clear but ok for a nice tube.
On went a black/yellow brass tube with a 3" wing.
Further on down after a few different pools the rod got hit savagely and really thought it was a Springer for several seconds.

But turned out to be a mended Sewin or Brown.
JJ and me thinking possibly a Sewin. Some marks on the fins maybe where spawning had taken place.
Nice and plump 2 pounds.

Well done, looks well mended except for the ragged fins.
Always nice to get a heart stopping pull on opening day.

A fish on your first outing, a good start and to be out on the river. Nothing better.

A quick few hours through some pools and with a strong upstream wind and a chill in the air , casting was a feat in itself.
Another 2 pound plus fish took a liken to my new salmon flies.
Hit it hard to and was dancing all over the pool like a Sewin.
Those intial few seconds Ooohhh what is it.

Maybe next time ;)

Greedy buggers this time of the year, nice looking fish (y) I'm hoping to get out next week. It looks like April 12th before we can get to the Dee.

Well a disastrous season for me.
Have covered a lot of fish with fly and not a hint of a touch.

So was glad when 1st September arrived.
Out early this morning before work and the dark arts were brought into play.
Cock was 15Ib8oz and the hen was over 11Ib all weighed in water and released.
Lost 2 doubles as well.

Sewinfly......

That's a fine result for the shrimp, well done.
I haven't fished a shrimp for years but I ordered some a couple of days ago.
