    Default Mullet on the Pin

Had a quick session on the river and after missing a few bites and losing a couple managed this one shy of
    5 pounds.
What a great fight on float fished bread flake size 8 barbless under a self cocking float .

Great fish! Aren't mullet really hard to tempt? Certainly, I've had no success in my occasional attempts to catch them.

    Hi Paul

I wouldn't say hard to catch it's just whether there taking or not and in the mood.

Started with a few small pieces of mashed bread thrown in the river every cast and was only fishing about 12-18" below the surface.

It took a while before the first bite and had to trot about 50 yards before the float went under. Then was plagued by stockiest that were in the tidal taking the bread.

Probably took about 15 minutes before landed and lost several to.I use the spring hair rigs they use for carp fishing on 6 or 8 Ib hook lengths.
My mate Jj does really well on fly each year.
    Keep at it.
