Had our last trip on Sunday low water to double high in the early hours. We had six schoolies and two slightly larger ones along with a lean bass of 3-4lb. Not large numbers of fish but a few large fish showing when the tide came in. No catch returns/book to see how others had faired recently. Good fun though and roebuck was nearly at the gate to meet us as we arrived.

    Tight lines

We fished last night in the storm. Very windy and tricky to cast at time with the wind swirling everywhere. Despite this we had 7 sea trout between 1-2lb plus one good fish of 7lb+. Also lost a similar sized fish in a snag which was frustrating. A bonus grilse of around 6lb made for a good but very tiring evening battling the elements.

I had a very good night at Woodmill on Sunday. We had a dozen fish between 2 of us, best 8lbs and a few lost. The water was higher than last time and a tinge of colour which had cleared by the morning. Some cracking fish showing at high tide but elusive as ever. I then fished Testwood last night and had 7 sea trout up to 7lbs, a grilse of 5lb and a 2.5lb chub which took a snake fly! A very tiring but productive couple of nights!

    Hi Alwyn

That's good going - guess they are still coming in with the recent rain just tying flies now whilst my mind is fresh ready for next year!

Tight lines if you go again

Thanks Richard - there were a few silver ones among them but the fish are starting to colour now
