Welcome (back), Coasty. I think we've all had a terrible season this year, with the long drought just when the fish should have been running. I'm hoping it's a one-off and that 2019 will be better.
I see you're based in North Yorkshire, like me. Where do you do your fishing? I rarely get out for seatrout locally: just occasionally to the Ribble, Hodder or Wenning, but they're all well over an hour's drive away, which is a long journey home at night. I do have a week in Wales every year, however, which is where I had my only success this year.
The forum is a bit quiet these days, so I hope you'll find things to post to liven us up!

Like Paul says it was a bad season, I like yourself never had any decent sea trout last Summer.
Lets hope it's just a one off & next season picks up.
All the best for Christmas & the New Year

I fish the Esk at Whitby been fishing it a few years , 2017 was brilliant but 2018 was a shocker the river was dead low virtually the whole season, I also Fish a small stream at Scarborough ( Scalby Beck ). We get sea trout as long as we get plenty of rain August / Sept / October . Lovely little stream about 5 minutes from my door. I hear the ribble is a fine river .

Cumbrian Blue, Paddock, East Stand or Warwick? Give me a shout next match though 8KforMK could be a bit noisy.
