Managed my second outing of the season tonight above Durham. Low water and weed being a pain. First fished 2 weeks back and not a sign of a fish.. tonight 3 fish seen and heard so are still trickling up in the low water. Fished 11 p.m till 1 a.m and off the mark for 2025. Funnily enough the 20th June the same date as first fish last year.
In desperate need of a good lift and a flush out..

Proper Wear fish that. This week is when a shoal of the most enormous fish arrived in the Dwyfor last year only to be gone by the time I arrived two weeks later. The one that did get caught legitimately was taken in the first freshwater pool and when I have had success with such fish it was always after seeing or hearing nothing

That‘s a lovely fish Tawney!

Has anyone been out lately? Did you get any rain recently? I’m planning to kick off my sea trout season with a trip to the Wear next week, really looking forward to it.

Well after a week of early starts at work and a small lift yesterday which is sharp running off saw me grab a few hours last night upstream of Durham. A bit too blustery for my liking but thought with the season short enough as it is would make the most of the chance of getting out and hoped fortune would favour the brave! Wind a right pain, fished 11 p.m till 2 a.m and managed a fish at midnight and a second at 1 a.m.

Not massive but a bit watta coming down today DM.. Most we've had for months so should get some fish moving and should fish well on a night. The gods must be with you if you're still venturing up.... Typically I've been put on niteshift 😒🤣👍
